Famous Quote by Amy Lowell
"Art is the desire of a man to express himself,
to record the reactions of his personality to the world he lives
in."
Amy Lowell the person
A daughter of an old and distinguished New England family, her
first book was "A Dome of Many Coloured Glass" published in 1912.
The following year Amy met Ezra Pound, a member of the imagist
movement in England and she soon became the leader of the movement
in the US. Lowell went on to sponsor imagist poets and edit and
write critiques on anthologies of imagist works, and write many
imagist poems mainly in polyphonic prose and free verse.
This Poet's personality was particularly strong, and she was

nature, often using extreme language and smoking full size black
cigars. |
